The cultural attraction
Káptalan Street, better known as Museum Street, is the city’s cultural heart, with the reborn museum district set to incorporate some of the city’s finest collections, such as the Vasarely Museum and the Martyn Collection.
The natural attraction
More than 70 public spaces and parks are being revived for the Capital of Culture programme to create a new sense of community and host outdoor events.
The ‘in’ place
The refurbished Zsolnay Porcelain Factory of Pécs is moving to new premises, with the existing space given over to the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter — a hub of creative spaces, workshops and galleries. zsolnay.com
The highlight of the year
The Pécs Spring Festival runs 15 March- 9 April at venues across the city with jazz, folk and classical performances.
Off the wall
The International Origami Meeting at the Petofi House of Culture during 9-15 August includes a flag exhibition and a giant folding party.
