Located in the Andaz Liverpool Street (formerly the Great Eastern Hotel), the just-opened 1901 restaurant is steeped in history. Once a vibrant social hub for Victorians, the multimillion pound rebrand aims to re-create its former buzz.

Taking its name from the year it first opened, 1901 will follow the Andaz brand’s philosophy of ‘casual luxury’. Head chef Dominic Teague has worked alongside designers to create menus that gel with the relaxed ambience of the Grade II-listed space. The emphasis is on the best of British produce: simple cooking using locally sourced ingredients. Signature dishes will include pan-fried fillet of sea bass with parsnip purée, roasted shallots and salsify.

The bar is a stunning focal point – the monolithic marble structure features a herb garden and will serve a wide selection of cocktails, as well as wines with well-matched cheeses.
