London. Danger of Death, Brick Lane
LONDON
Stay at: The shiniest of this year's grand newcomers to the London hotel scene, the £300m Corinthia in Whitehall has a whopping Espa spa and David Collins' best-looking restaurant yet, Massimo. Vanity Fair and GQ Style were among the first glossy magazines to throw parties there. corinthia.com
Drink at: Diminutive members' bar Danger of Death, handy for Shoreditch, Spitalfields and Bethnal Green, is open Wednesday to Sunday, refreshing its night-owl clientele with impeccably prepared libations such as the Ivy Gimlet Royale. dangerlondon.com
Eat at: Londoners are in love with casual eating, and there's none more bustling than José, a sherry and tapas bar on Bermondsey Street. Last orders for jamón Ibérico and crab and basil croquetas are at 10.30pm. josepizarro.com
Shop at: Whether it's fashion (Balenciaga, Preen, Mr Hare), books (Take Ivy, Ryan McGinley) or music (Gatto Fritto CDs, The Rolling Stones on vinyl), if the owners of Dalston store LN-CC like it, it's cool. Appointment only. ln-cc.com
