Several years ago I had a bicycle accident and decided to turn a negative experience into a positive one by promoting all things two-wheeled through art, film and music. Now we show in 35 cities globally and it has been embraced by some unlikely people: Karl Lagerfeld came along in Paris on his Chanel bike.

London is one of the cities I look forward to, and I always cycle when I'm in town. The newest cycle-centric café is Old Street's Look Mum No Hands (lookmumnohands.com). It's the place to meet for a coffee and pump your tyres. We're having a party there too.

I always catch London's Hardcourt Bike Polo Players in action (lhbpa.org), followed by a bite to eat and a puncture repair at the Lock 7 café (lock-7.com). This area, just off Broadway Market, is ideal for scoping souped-up bikes. Brixton Cycles (brixtoncycles.co.uk)
is the longest running cycle shop co-op, with down-to-earth staff and a wide range of stock. But if you want BMXs, then head to Volt (voltbmx.com) in Stoke Newington — the capital's only BMX shop.

The Bicycle Film Festival (bicyclefilmfestival.com) visits Los Angeles, Denver, San Diego and Santa Barbara this month, before visiting London during 13-17 October.
