So many bars and restaurants, so little time... If you only go to two new bars and restaurants this month, try these:
Bombay Sapphire Dusk Bar, London WC2
This new Tom Dixon-designed pop-up bar on the River Terrace of Somerset House – inspired by the blue bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin – is in place until 18 October. Stop by for an alfresco lunch, or wait until evening when it’s all aglow. Cocktail highlights include the lovely Tomtini, a tasty mix of gin, apple, green tea and ginger, great with one of the generous evening sharing platters. Check out the summer events at Somerset House, too. somersethouse.org.uk
Twotwentytwo, London nW1
Marylebone’s prestigious Landmark London hotel has a stylish new restaurant, complete with life-sized horse lamp at the entrance. We like the modern European menu – try the pick-and-mix shared starter (mini samosas, squid and aubergine purée) and hearty spring vegetable risotto. Grilled meats and fish are among other tempting dishes. The wine list, though a tad on the pricey side, is extensive and helpfully labelled. Closed Saturday and Sunday. landmarklondon.co.uk
