The newly opened Hotel Verta (hotel-verta.co.uk) in Battersea is south London's slickest hotel with an adjacent heliport. It's 13 storeys high and the panorama is awe-inspiring: a bird's-eye view of Battersea Power Station and the Thames.
While you're south of the river, head to a car park in Peckham, the unlikely venue for the hit pop-up of the summer, Frank's Café (frankscafe.org.uk), which has a fabulous seven-storey vista taking in the city's best-loved landmarks (until 30 September).
Finally, the exquisitely revamped Paramount (paramount.uk.net) at the top of Centre Point is the place for unparalleled views over central London. See the magnificent roof of the British Museum and London's iconic red buses snaking down Oxford Street.
