Trou-aux-Biches, Mauritius
This recently refurbished Mauritius favourite sits on one of the island's best beaches, a 2km stretch of sand on the northwest coast. It's part of the Beachcomber group, which means excellent children's facilities including a free Mini Club for kids aged three to 12 and a teens' club. BA offers seven nights from £6,029* for a family of four half-board including flights. ba.com/mauritius

Jumeirah Port Soller, Mallorca
The Jumeirah group's first leisure resort is lavish. Plasma TVs are a given, as is the huge spa with a pool just for grown-ups and the five restaurants. The Barbaroja's kids' club offers free activities for those aged three to 12, and there are babysitting services. From £275 a night. jumeirah.com

Buccament Bay, St Vincent
If your mob is keen on sport, you've found a Premier League resort. An affiliation with Liverpool FC supplies former footballers to coach youngsters during the summer. And a cricket academy was launched in April in conjunction with the West Indies Cricket Board. Included in the price is group coaching at the Pat Cash Tennis Academy, with the sporting legend regularly offering lessons. From £360 a night**. buccamentbay.com

Legoland Windsor Resort Windsor
The Legoland Resort Windsor celebrates all things associated with the famous brick and themed bedrooms — Pirate, Kingdom and Adventure — bring it all to life. The hotel is set in 150 acres of parkland on the edge of the Legoland theme park itself, and guests get early-bird access to the park's rides and shows. From £247 for a themed family room and park tickets for two days. legoland.co.uk

Disney Art of Animation Resort Florida
The Art of Animation Resort opens this month, one of more than 20 hotels situated at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida including Finding Nemo and The Lion King. Each of the 1,120 suites sleeps up to six guests and all are themed by favourite films. Later in the year, 864 rooms inspired by The Little Mermaid are set to open. From £210 a night. disneyworld.disney.go.com

*Based on two adults and two children aged 2-11 years and departures during June. Includes return BA flights from London Gatwick and return internal flights. Call +44 (0)844 493 0758.

**Price per night for two people on all-inclusive basis for a one-bedroom garden villa with plunge pool.
