My earliest travel companion was a cute brown porcupine toy. It was given to me on my first trip to Europe aged 12. It's been retired now but it used to come everywhere with me.
I fly nearly every two days so I go for the casual look when I travel. Wearing a suit feels as if I'm going to do an interview for work, so I prefer a pullover, jeans and sneakers — perfect for napping and relaxing.
A relative gave me a jade pendant and
I always wear it when I am away from home. It has sentimental value. Jade is lucky and helps me to stay peaceful.
Jazz legends Herbie Hancock and Quincy Jones and pop artists such as Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga can all be found on my MP3 player, which I always have with me. My music tastes are quite mixed.

Local tribespeople in Tanzania gave me a gift when I visited them — a cross between a carved wooden stick and a sword — that's got to be the strangest souvenir I've ever brought back. Now it is in my living room next to the piano. I think it is to protect against evil spirits. It certainly gives you a really optimistic feeling when you hold it.
Sadly I don't often get to catch up with childhood friends so I'd love to end up next to one on a long flight. Even though I don't see them that much they know me so well.
As told to Ianthe Butt.
