When I was little, we used to go camping in France. I loved going on the ferry. We would go with another family so there were always children around and lots of stuff to do, like five-a-side football tournaments, bowling and tennis.

I’m not a beach bum. Although I prefer
hot holidays, I always like to keep busy.
As long as I can play sport on holiday I’m happy. I never play tennis. It’s not relaxing
for me at all.

It’s a bit sad, but I usually bring back towels from the tournaments I play in. I rarely bring back any other souvenirs.

I wouldn’t order sushi in Rotterdam. I was there last year and I love Japanese food. My hotel recommended an all-you-can-eat place. I ordered tuna but it was canned tuna with mayonnaise. It was a bit of a disgrace.

I’ve been home to Scotland for four days in the last two years. When I’m there, I like to catch up with my friends and family as I rarely get to see them any more.

I really miss British TV when I’m travelling. American sports channels are decent enough, but after a couple of days it gets boring. My favourite shows are things like The Office, Soccer AM, Friends and Dragon’s Den. And I’m also just getting into Gavin & Stacey, a bit late, I know.

Any visitor to Scotland has got to go to Edinburgh. I’ve always loved it. Or there’s Gleneagles, an amazing resort complex with a golf course, swimming pools and a spa.
We used to go there all the time, as it was only 15 minutes from my house.

I’d like to sit next to Muhammad Ali
on a flight. You need something to talk about, and we’d have sport in common.
And my perfect holiday partner would probably be a comedian. Jimmy Carr or maybe Frankie Boyle are hilarious. I
wonder whether we’d get on?

The 2010 Wimbledon championships take place 21 June-4 July. Watch Legends of Wimbledon on board, available on selected flights.
