Playing Mad Men's Don Draper has some nice benefits. I'm a huge fan of Italian tailoring, and I got to keep suits like the beautiful cream Ferragamo number, which was very, very nice. I was sent a few suits and shirts to wear on the red carpet in Cannes. The only problem is that I think they want them sending back this time!
Cannes is another world: blue skies, enormous yachts, plus some of the best restaurants on earth. I've been twice and have really fallen in love with that part of the world. I have a real soft spot for Vancouver. Even during wintertime, it's such a stunningly beautiful place. There's lots to do, especially outdoor stuff, which for a sporty guy like me is essential even if it's snowy and rainy. I have to be in a city where I can still feel nature against my cheeks.
I must be one of the luckiest men alive — I have just spent a couple of days skiing with Megan Fox at the Mount Peter Ski Resort in Warwick, New York state. It was for my new film Friends With Kids, which was directed by my girlfriend [Jennifer Westfeldt]. My male friends tell me it sounds like the stuff of dreams.
I feel a strong emotional attachment to Madison Square Garden, which is located near the fictional offices of Mad Men on Madison Avenue. It might not be as beautiful as other Manhattan landmarks like the Rockefeller Center or the Chrysler Building, but you just have to think of the great artists that have played there like Led Zeppelin, John Lennon, Elton John.
As a traveller I'm pretty easy to please, but I think I've found the last word in luxury when it comes to hotels — the Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d'Antibes in the south of France. It reopened in April after a four-year, £40 million restoration project. And I was totally blown away by the sheer opulence of the place.
