I only go back to Japan once a year these days. It has changed so much since my childhood that I now visit it like a foreign country. I go to organise a series of concerts, which help raise funds for building schools in Africa. I'm very proud to say that we've built over 20 already.
It's terribly sad but some of the worst war-torn areas of the world are also the most beautiful to visit - especially in Africa, where it would be amazing to one day welcome travellers to places like Eritrea or the Darfur region of Sudan.
New York City is a wonderful place to live. The sense of community is so strong. Anyone who is thinking of coming to Manhattan must visit Strawberry Fields across the road in Central Park. It's so beautiful to just sit there and think.
I was convinced the Imagine Peace Tower should be built in Reykjavik, Iceland. It's a permanent landmark for peace dedicated to John [Lennon]. I believe Iceland to be such a pure and untarnished country. Eighty per cent of the country's energy is provided by water, not oil, and because of this, the air, water and earth are surprisingly pure and clean.
We all have to continue to at least try to save the planet. Is it too late? I don't know but we have to give it a go. Eco-tourism is an essential part of that process.
I'm really into astrology, numerology and feng shui, so I love the aesthetic beauty of the Northern Lights. I believe that all the wisdom and the energy we feel comes from the north.
You know where would be the perfect tourist destination? Nutopia. John and I dreamt up this place with no borders, no passport control. It's time we all revisited Nutopia, at the very least in our minds.
