Sardinia: Costa Smeralda
Lifestyle store, Spazia Rossana Orlandi, Porto Cervo, Milan
Francesca Stella
As part of a new luxury development on Sardinia's Costa Smeralda, which aims to revive the once jet-set retreat of the 1960s, the Promenade du Port at Porto Cervo is hosting what must be the coolest pop-up selection of retailers, galleries, restaurants and clubs. But forget the glitzy reputation that this coastline once had — this development is all about bringing an authentic luxury to those in the know. Think artisanal luxe.
Those who've set up camp for the season include Milan's chic lifestyle store, Spazio Rossana Orlandi, London's Gallery Fumi, an outpost of Boujis Bar designed by Patricia Urquiola and Mozz'Art — a mozzarella bar by Enrico Carretta and chef Leonardo Russi. There are 33 retail outlets in total at this otherwise quaint seaside village — all with an emphasis on craftsmanship and desirable design. It's bling but not as you know it. The project runs until September. Visit promenadeduport.com for more details.
