The New York shows are leaving Bryant Park, their home of 15 years, and moving to the Lincoln Center. My first show was in 1993, and it was crazy! Naturally, I was very nervous. But I have great memories from working there over the years, especially Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss modelling. And I used to love the fans walking past on Sixth Avenue.
Closing Fashion Week at Bryant Park for the last time was sad and exhilarating. The Lincoln Center is the venue for the arts, so to bring fashion alongside music, dance and film makes perfect sense. And for our first show there we're celebrating our 25th anniversary by reworking our preppy heritage for a new decade. It's like entering a new chapter. Change is good. We need to constantly move forward. And that's what fashion is about.
