How to donate to the DEC appeal

On 12 January, a devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the Caribbean nation of Haiti, including the densely populated capital Port-au-Prince. Two months on, the devastation is still impossible to account for. It's crucial for Haiti's recovery that the world continues to help. British Airways flew in 160 tonnes of vital supplies on behalf of Oxfam, the United Nations World Food Programme, Unicef and the Red Cross, helped by volunteers from across the company.

After dealing with the initial impact, the 13 humanitarian agencies of the Disasters Emergency Committee are continuing their work in Haiti — reconstructing homes, schools and clinics, and helping people rebuild their livelihoods. To donate to the DEC appeal, visit dec.org.uk, call +44 (0)370 606 0900, or text GIVE to 70077 to donate £5. (You pay £5, plus your standard network SMS rate.)
