Last year, we launched the High Life travel photography competition and were deluged by entries. Nearly 6,000 of you sent in pictures and 43,000 of you voted for our people's winner category. Meanwhile, the judges sifted through thousands of photos to choose their overall winner...

The judges' winner: 'Green Steps' taken by Ly Hoang Long, Dalat City, Vietnam
A spectacular image taken in Yen Bai. Vivid green rice fields contrast strikingly with the silvery flooded paddy terraces surrounding them, while the reflections of two tiny figures give a marvellous sense of scale. 'I was instantly engaged by the vivid green slicing through the blank landscape, almost like an artwork in progress,' said judge and High Life art director Jamie McPherson.
