It's 50 years since Roald Dahl wrote his much-loved classic James and the Giant Peach. To celebrate, this summer we ran a competition asking children to send us a postcard about their own adventures. The prize? Travelling to New York for a Giant Roald Dahl Day and having your tale illustrated by Quentin Blake.

And we were delighted by the response that we received. We'd like to thank everyone who took the time and effort to enter but, with over 2,000 entries, we also wanted to let you know that our judges Quentin Blake, Michael Rosen, Lauren Child and High Life editor Kerry Smith, have a lot of postcards to read through!

We will announce the winners of the competition on bahighlife.com by October 28. In the meantime, why don't you read more about Roald Dahl and the places he was inspired by in Michael Rosen's great article, In search of Roald Dahl.

Thank you for you interest in the competition!
