London is awash with mad hatters. This month, they are throwing their own tea party at the V&A’s (vam.ac.uk) latest exhibition: Hats: An Anthology by Stephen Jones, the first major retrospective of the fashion accessory.

Jones’s hats, such as this Wash & Go design, appear on the runways of everyone from Dior to Comme des Garçons. His celebrity devotees include Dita Von Teese and Madonna. Jones is one of a clutch of London hat design talents, along with Philip Treacy (philiptreacy.co.uk), milliner to the royal family and collaborator of Alexander McQueen.
