It’s hard to imagine any other designer spinning more variations from one English classic than Christopher Bailey. During his eight years at Burberry (burberry.com), the designer has, season after season, reinvented the trench coat. This spring, his Crumpled Classics collection includes lightweight coats in a palette inspired by English gardens.
At Lanvin (lanvin.com), Lucas Ossendrijver has created billowy macs in earthy browns and inky blues, while Dries Van Noten (driesvannoten.be) has more structured versions of the perfect-to-pack spring coat in crisp white or navy blue.
For more mackintoshes, for men and women, pay a visit to London's gorgeous Burlington Arcade. Read about its renovation here.
