British Airways has unveiled its transformed A380 cabins – and there’s plenty to get excited about. Part of the airline's ongoing multi-billion investment, the aircraft will feature refreshed interiors and new seats across all four cabins, with more than 35,000 new parts going into each retrofit. As the airline’s CEO Sean Doyle says: “Everything has been carefully considered to deliver greater comfort and an elevated customer experience.”
With the first refurbished A380 expected to take to the skies in the coming months, here’s what to expect.
1. It’s a whole-plane glow-up, with something new in every cabin
From the 12-seat First cabin to 106 Club Suites on the upper deck, the A380’s makeover stretches from nose to tail. Building on the First suite unveiled in 2024, Club World, World Traveller Plus and World Traveller now get their own upgrades, including brand-new seats and revamped interiors. The two-deck aircraft will feature 12 seats in First, 106 in Club World, 84 in World Traveller Plus and 215 in World Traveller, alongside redesigned galleys and stairways. It’s a major cabin transformation, designed to bring greater comfort and a more premium journey at 35,000 feet – and to welcome even more customers into BA’s premium cabins.

2. Look closely: there’s a design thread throughout
British Airways’ herringbone motif appears across the cabins, creating a cohesive look. The interiors build on a design concept first introduced to the airline’s short-haul fleet in 2024.

3. You can get comfortable in World Traveller
World Traveller (economy) customers will enjoy wider seats, larger entertainment screens and upgraded bedding. New pillows feature extra filling, while the blankets are plusher and finished in BA’s signature blue with red Speedmarque detailing.

4. Premium economy has some thoughtful extras
World Traveller Plus (premium economy) adds privacy wings and larger screens as well as new bedding* and pillows. There’s also a reusable tote-style amenity kit, complete with a Dr.PAWPAW moisturising balm and travel essentials.
5. The upper deck is Club Suite territory
All 106 Club Suite seats are on the upper deck, divided into four cabin zones. Dedicated dwell areas, Club Kitchens and redesigned galleys give customers room to move around and unwind. The updated suite brings in a contemporary palette inspired by BA’s blue, red and cream. Shaped by customer feedback, the details include added storage and improved functionality.

6. The amenity kits are highly collectable
In Club World, each amenity kit comes in one of four designs by British artists, created in collaboration with art platform Rise Art and stocked with products from British wellness brand anatomē. Meanwhile in First, British Airways offers a bespoke unisex kit in royal blue or cream from Swaine London. Established in 1750, Swaine is one of the world’s oldest luxury brands. Inside the bags are skincare items from Wildsmith, inspired by 19th-century botanist William Wildsmith and all formulated to support skin during air travel. They include hand & body lotion, hydrating face cream, face mist, lip balm, ceramide multi balm and a hydrating overnight mask.
7. First dining puts choice on the menu
The ‘From the Grill’ option lets customers select from premium dishes such as British roast rack of lamb and grilled salmon, with sides and sauces. Signature mains offer even more choice, while a seat-integrated mini bar keeps snacks and still or sparkling water close by. Want to eat with a friend? Open the divider between the centre seats to make a shared lounge, then stow the tables for ‘buddy dining’.

8. The finishing touches are worth a closer look
First dining pairs stoneware and fine bone china with premium Champagne, a curated gin selection and Showerings triple vintage cider. The details include cutlery by Studio William, wine glasses developed with Richard Brendon and Jancis Robinson and British Airways-branded serving pieces.
9. First service training is being updated
British Airways is rolling out an updated First Service Specialist (FSS) training programme to First cabin crew. Designed to enable a more personalised service, the programme helps them to respond to individual preferences while delivering the warm, intuitive and attentive hospitality that defines First.

10. You’ll look forward to bedtime
The First sleepwear and bedding** include a woven herringbone-design day blanket, cool-touch sleepwear inspired by British Airways’ registered tartan, a navy cushion and slippers. When it’s time to turn in, cabin crew prepare the suite with a mattress, lightweight cotton duvet and newly designed pillow.
11. The premium experience starts before you board
The cabin refresh sits alongside a separate programme to transform British Airways’ Heathrow lounges and premium ground experience over five years. This latest announcement marks the first phase of a wider programme that will see every Heathrow lounge redesigned. Elsewhere, the airline has invested in new aircraft, technology and improved operational performance – all aimed at delivering a better experience for customers at every stage of their journey.
