Further inland, visitors can discover rural whitewashed villages, vineyards, olive groves and forested hiking trails with panoramic sea views. 

The Unesco World Heritage Site of Ibiza Old Town is another must-visit, with its hilltop fortress, cobblestone streets and scenic port. Founded by the Phoenicians in the seventh century, it’s one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe and is now a buzzy hub of seafood restaurants, independent boutiques and upmarket galleries, including the excellent Museum of Contemporary Art.
