Suite glamour, butler service, fine dining, a majestic mountain and more: here are seven reasons to visit The St. Regis Le Morne Resort, Mauritius. Beyond the resort’s secluded peninsula, glorious beach and blue-and-gold Indian Ocean scenery, a world of awe and creature comforts awaits.
1. The Unesco-listed location
As neighbours go, Le Morne mountain takes some beating. Rising to 556m, this Unesco-listed landmark almost appears Photoshopped onto the resort’s backdrop. It’s steeped in stories: Le Morne famously provided sanctuary for escaped enslaved people during the 18th and early 19th century and is a symbol of the fight for freedom. Keen walkers will relish the hiking trail, best tackled at sunrise on a three-hour guided expedition. Ample rewards come in the form of cinematic views of the surrounding reefs and lagoons from the mountain peak.

2. Suite life
There are no dud room categories at this all-suite resort, where the only difficult decision is working out whether you want to wake up in lush tropical gardens or directly by the beach. Some suites come with dazzling ocean views, some feature freestanding bathtubs and a master bedroom that doubles up as a treatment room with two massage beds, others have gracious heritage charm and inviting balconies. If space is key, there is also a grand, multi-bedroom villa.
3. Personalised butler service
Please note: you are not permitted to take your butler from The St. Regis Le Morne home with you. You will, however, be very tempted to. This all-butler resort does credit to the signature St. Regis Butler Service, which dates back to 1904. Expect anticipatory, intuitive and highly personalised service, guided by the phrase ‘allow me’. Luggage will be magically unpacked and repacked, bespoke itineraries will be suggested, special occasions catered for and every gesture comes with a genuine smile.

4. Divine dining
Culinary boredom is impossible here, with five restaurants repping global cuisines, bolstered by a Parisian-inspired pâtisserie, a beach bar for relaxed drinks and the St. Regis Bar for classic cocktails with added glamour. But first, the feasting. Le Manoir Dining Room is the main restaurant, nailing breakfast buffets and à la carte dinners. Floating Market offers an aromatic blend of Thai, Malay, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Singaporean flavours in an irresponsibly romantic setting. Serene Atsuko presents inspired Japanese cuisine with a live teppanyaki station, while INDYA puts a contemporary spin on Indian cuisine. Last, but certainly not least, the Boathouse’s Beach Lounge excels at coastal Greek and Turkish fare, starring locally sourced catches.

5. Signature St. Regis rituals
Since life is better with treats, the resort offers a series of indulgent rituals. Mark sunset with a glass of Champagne during Sabrage at Sunset. Savour a L’Île Mary cocktail, the resort’s Mauritian interpretation of the signature St. Regis Bloody Mary. Sweet tooths and traditionalists will love the Afternoon Tea, starring picture-perfect confections, savoury treats and curated blends.
6. Exquisite experiences
In keeping with St. Regis’ signature philosophy, ‘Live Exquisite’, a series of immersive experiences connect guests more deeply with Mauritius. Embark on a guided leisurely stroll along the lush slopes of Le Morne Brabant, master local recipes during culinary workshops or join an intimate Chef’s Table dinner at Le Manoir. Exquisite Bathtime brings a private ritual of relaxation to the suite, with locally inspired oils, scrubs, salts and aromatic touches thoughtfully prepared by the St. Regis butler.

7. The St. Regis Spa by La Prairie
Then there’s The St. Regis Spa by La Prairie, the first of its kind in the Indian Ocean. The 2,000sqm sanctuary pairs La Prairie’s renowned Swiss skincare expertise with personalised rituals inspired by Mauritius. Don’t miss the exclusive Mauritian Radiance Experience, an 80-minute ritual drawing on the island’s volcanic origins and incorporating basalt stone.
8. The season of light
Dreaming of a white-sand Christmas? From 20 December 2026 to 8 January 2027, the resort’s Season of Light takes its cues from the epic west coast sky. A mood of quiet beauty and celebration stems from nature, with lanterns glowing on the sand, fire bowls warming the shoreline and music drifting sweetly through the evening air, accompanied by the soft susurration of the sea. Let there be light.
