The eastern gateway to the Amalfi Coast, the sunny southern city of Salerno appeals to those who love to bumble between beaches and pastel-hued seaside villages enjoying la dolce vita. Gaze up at the Gateway Arch, cruise down by the mighty Mississippi and eat some of the best brisket in Missouri at Big Woody’s BBQ in St Charles. After dark, follow in the footsteps of Chuck Berry and Miles Davis in the blues and jazz clubs on the Delmar Loop. Sports fans, meanwhile, can catch a Cardinals baseball game at Busch Park. For riveting rooftop views of St Louis’ skyline, check in at Angad Arts Hotel in the Grand Center Arts District.
